A puzzle-solving stealth game where the player is a first-person character who must escape a virtual simulation created by Artificial Intelligence. Outrunning AI robots, dodging lasers, and solving puzzles.
Cloud Captive is an immersive first-person puzzle-stealth game that challenges players to escape from a sophisticated AI-controlled virtual simulation. The game combines strategic thinking with quick reflexes as players navigate through increasingly complex environments filled with AI robots, laser security systems, and mind-bending puzzles.
This game was developed as a component of my Portfolio of Evidence project. The assignment involved investigating a selected theme and designing four potential future outcomes that reflect its impact on humanity. I chose to focus on “Human freedom in an AI-dominated world.”. The main objective of the game is to highlight how artificial intelligence could influence the future of human independence.
As the Lead UI/UX and LEVEL designer, I was responsible for the overall game design, level architecture, and asset creation. I implemented the visual laser effects and environmental storytelling. My focus was on ensuring balanced gameplay, an immersive atmosphere. I focused mainly on creating a better user experience inside and outside of the game, making use of various sound effects, background music, looping videos and user feedback techniques.
